Gladiolaz Sizing & Fit Guide: Find Your Perfect Match

Choosing a new look should be effortless. Whether you are a first-time wearer or a seasoned pro, ensuring your hair fits comfortably and looks exactly how you envisioned is our top priority. Use this guide to master measurements for Gladiolaz wigs and bundles.

Part 1: Understanding Hair Length

Hair length is measured in inches, but the "look" changes based on the texture you choose. At Gladiolaz, we measure our hair from the crown to the very ends of the longest strands.

The Texture Factor

  • Straight Hair: Measured flat from crown to tip.

  • Wavy/Curly Hair: These textures are measured when gently stretched straight.

Note: A 22-inch curly unit will appear 2–4 inches shorter than a 22-inch straight unit because of the bounce in the curl pattern.

Length Reference Chart

  • 10"–12" (Short): Grazes the chin or clears the shoulders (Bob style).

  • 14"–18" (Mid-Length): Falls past the shoulders toward the collarbone.

  • 20"–24" (Long): Reaches mid-back.

  • 26"+ (Extra Long): Reaches the lower back or waist.

Part 2: Measuring for the Perfect Cap Size

A wig that fits correctly stays secure without the need for excessive glue or tight straps. Grab a soft measuring tape and follow these three steps:

1. Circumference

Wrap the tape around your head, starting at your front hairline, going behind your ears, around the nape of your neck, and back to the start.

  • Petite: 21" – 21.5"

  • Average (Most Common): 22" – 22.5"

  • Large: 23" – 23.5"

2. Front to Nape

Measure from the center of your front hairline, straight back over the crown of your head, down to where your hairline ends at the nape of your neck.

3. Ear to Ear

Place the tape at the top of one ear and run it across your front hairline to the top of the other ear.

Pro-Tips for a Flawless Fit

  • Flatten Your Natural Hair: Always measure with your hair braided or wrapped as flat as possible (the same way you'll wear it under the wig).

  • Snug, Not Tight: The tape should be firm against your skin but shouldn't pinch.

  • Adjustable Straps: Most Gladiolaz units come with internal adjustment straps. If you are between sizes, we recommend going with the larger size and tightening the straps for comfort.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my 20-inch Deep Wave wig look shorter than my 20-inch Straight wig? Curls "shrink" the appearance of the hair. To see the true length, you must pull a strand straight.

Does length include the lace? No. We measure from the hair's point of origin at the crown, not including the lace area or the forehead overhang.

Can I wear a wig if I have a lot of natural hair? Absolutely! Ensure your natural hair is braided into small cornrows or a flat wrap to prevent the cap from feeling too tight or looking bulky.
